Water scarcity in today’s world makes it imperative to choose technologies that use as little water as possible in production processes. In addition, it has become an inevitable requirement of today that the water used and referred to as wastewater is put into use again instead of being discharged into nature through a number of additional treatment processes. In recent years, particularly with the opportunities provided by the developments in the field of membrane technologies, both domestic and industrial wastewater can be easily reused through additional treatment processes. With this point of view, it is critical to choose the processes that minimize the loss of water in water and wastewater treatment plants.
